海洋生态与环境科学重点实验室workshop系列讲座(20190618-20190620) 主题:Use of CMSY/LBB Tool for the Assessment of Chinese Stocks 内容:The main objective of this training workshop is to introduce scientists involved in fish stock assessment to two new methods, viz.: (i) for the assessment of fish stocks using time series of catch data and estimates of resilience which can be derived from FishBase, here referred to as CMSY; and (ii) for estimating a snap shot of stock status from length-frequency data from commercial catches, here referred to as LBB. 时间:2019年6月18日-6月20日(9:00-17:00) 地点:3号楼416会议室 主讲人介绍:Professor Daniel Pauly Daniel Pauly is a Professor at the University of British Columbia Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, and was its Director from 2003 to 2008. In 1999, Daniel Pauly founded, and since leads, a large research project, the Sea Around Us, devoted to identifying and quantifying global fisheries trends. Daniel Pauly is also co-founder of FishBase.org, the online encyclopedia of more than 30,000 fish species, and he has helped develop the widely-used Ecopath modeling software. Dr. Pauly authored over 1000 scientific and other articles, books and book chapters on fish, fisheries and related topics, and proposed the famous ‘fishing down marine food webs’ and ‘shifting baseline’ concepts.
主讲人介绍:Dr. Deng Palomares Dr. Deng Palomares is a Senior Scientist and Project Manager of the Sea Around Us She also serves as Specialty Chief Editor of Frontiers in Marine Science’s section on Marine Fisheries, Aquaculture and Living Resources (since 2016). Deng Palomares’s language and computer skills coupled with her background in fisheries science and ecological modeling Software Development and Database Scientist for the FishBase team. She has successfully run several fish stock assessment workshops in other coastal countries.
